  I do a weekly mailing for my friends and others called the RIT (Random Interesting Things) List. Usually I restrict it to only those on the list but this weeks' RIT was so good (in my opinion) I felt I had to share it with you all. Without further ado, a rare peek into the mostly private world of the RIT.

  You've no doubt heard in the news the 'debates' about the 'pro-Christmas/anti-Christmas' bull crap. This weeks' RIT, being the RIT before Christmas (wow, that almost rhymes, somehow, with 'night before Christmas'... yay tangents) is all about this debate. Can't just do a simple history of Christmas, y'know? Anyway, this is what I originally intended to send to you:

  So, you've got people who're sometimes called 'anti-Christmas' because it's seen by some as a religious holiday. Yes, it used to be, a long, long time ago. Now, for most people, it's all about the presents, the getting together, the credit card bills in January, etc. Yes, there are still some people who consider it to be a religious holiday. And what's wrong with that? They're not forcing you to look at it. They're not forcing you to believe it. They're just having fun expressing thier joy for the season in thier own way. If you really don't like it all that much, put up your own decoration or something. It's better to contribute something than to just take a bunch of things away. The whole point of the 'Christmas Season' should be about joy and giving, not fanatical finger pointing and court orders. C'mon people.

  However, I have decided upon this new addition. Foamy says it so well, although his language is a bit spicier than mine.
